Sir Graham Brady, Member of Parliament for Altrincham and Sale West has raised the need to allow residential stays for young people. During the statement in the House of Commons on COVID on Monday he told the Secretary of State:
‘Children have missed out on so much over the past 15 months…. He went on to ask about the residential summer camps being run by local Jewish youth groups. He said if the rule of 30 remains after the 21st June, what they do will simply not be viable. I am sure that the same is true of many other youth groups. Can he give some reassurance that those safe, regulated, largely outdoor activities will be able to go ahead for groups of much more than 30?
Responding to Sir Graham, Matt Hancock said:

Speaking later Sir Graham said:
‘Youth groups play an important role in providing safe, regulated activities for young people. With the summer holidays fast approaching, Ministers should reassure parents that these much-valued activities can continue.’
