Sir Graham Brady welcomes news that Altrincham has been shortlisted for the Great British High Street Awards

Sir Graham Brady has welcomed the news that Altrincham town centre has been shortlisted for the Great British High Street Awards, putting it in line for a £15,000 prize.

There are 26 high streets in Altrincham’s category who will compete in a public vote and then have the chance to impress an expert judging panel. It’s been shortlisted in the Champion category, which aims to find the UK’s best high street.

Sir Graham Brady said: ‘This is excellent news, Altrincham has been transformed in recent years; it’s taken a lot of hard work and local people are delighted with the result; our town centre is buzzing, it’s become a real go-to destination. I would urge people to vote for Altrincham in the next round; it would be wonderful if we won the overall title of best high street. ’
